There’s opportunity for learning everywhere! Don’t teach your child that learning belongs in a classroom. Make the world a never-ending classroom, and life is the subject. Have a catch in the front yard after work on a summer’s evening. Get lost in the shelves at the local library.
Take them to the museum! Bring them to Broadway shows. Teach your children that their measure and self-worth is not defined by a number out of 100 or a letter in red pen at the top of a page. Getting caught up in grades and homework and tests can often do more harm than good.
But education cannot, and should not, be limited to the classroom. Teach your child that education is important.
